What Are Flower Girls?
The flower girl is used to symbolize the bride as a child in her innocence. A flower girl is typically dressed up the same as the bride and can also symbolize wishes of fertility for the bride and groom during the forming of their new family.
- Flower girls are usually between the ages of four and seven. This, however, does not have to be the rule especially if there is a nine or ten-year-old girl who is important to the wedding couple.
- The flower girl normally wears a dress fit for a princess. While it is a nice gesture to pay for your flower girl’s dress, in some cultures, it is traditionally the flower girls’ parents who pay for her dress.
