Flower Girls

What Are Flower Girls?

The flower girl is used to symbolize the bride as a child in her innocence. A flower girl is typically dressed up the same as the bride and can also symbolize wishes of fertility for the bride and groom during the forming of their new family.

Key Points

  • Flower girls are usually between the ages of four and seven. This, however, does not have to be the rule especially if there is a nine or ten-year-old girl who is important to the wedding couple.
  • The flower girl normally wears a dress fit for a princess. While it is a nice gesture to pay for your flower girl’s dress, in some cultures, it is traditionally the flower girls’ parents who pay for her dress.
